Business Development Representative
Position Summary
The Business Development Representative will drive business growth by developing relationships with pool builders, contractors, distributors, and industry partners. This role focuses primarily on selling metal drains and metal pool forms while identifying additional opportunities across both companies’ product lines.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing sales, pool industry sales, construction materials, or related technical products. This person must be comfortable managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship building to closing and customer support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with pool builders, contractors, distributors, and commercial clients
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pool and construction industries
- Promote and sell metal drains, pool forms, and related manufactured products
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, quoting, follow-up, negotiation, and closing
- Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers on product applications and benefits
- Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as needed
- Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met
- Maintain accurate sales activity records, pipeline updates, and customer communications
- Gather market intelligence and provide feedback on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
- Support the development of future sales processes and customer relationship strategies
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, construction, or pool industry sales environments
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable discussing technical products and applications
- Ability to travel for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office products preferred
- Ability to adapt in a fast-growing entrepreneurial environment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or account management
- Experience in the pool industry, manufacturing industry, construction products, or related field strongly preferred
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Existing industry relationships within the pool or contractor space preferred
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
