Inventory Coordinator
This position is responsible for supporting daily operations of a repair shop by managing parts, materials, and supplies needed
Receive, inspect, and verify parts against purchase orders
Stock and organize parts
Issue parts to technicians and mechanics based on repair orders
Maintain accurate inventory records in shop management or inventory systems
Track parts usage by job to support accurate billing and cost control
Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories
Monitor stock levels and notify management of low or critical items
Coordinate with vendors on:
Backorders
Returns and core charges
Warranty parts
Freight damage or discrepancies
Maintain clean, organized, and safe parts storage areas
Experience:
- Experience in parts, inventory, or shop support roles
- Familiarity with automotive and/or diesel parts and terminology
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to read repair orders, part numbers, and vendor invoices
- Basic computer skills and experience with shop management systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technicians and vendors
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced shop environment
